She is the protector of trees and the avenger that brings trouble to those who disrespect their majesty and beauty.
In this watercolor painting I hope to evoke a feeling of the presence of higher beings that care for and avenge nature when man indiscriminately sets out to cause destruction. She is a faery with a mission and is ever vigilant in her intent.
Be careful how you treat the trees, she is always watching.

Carrie Viscome Skinner was born in Fulton NY in 1952 and now resides in the woods in Sterling NY with her Husband of 40+ years, a dog named Raven and about 20 chickens. Though Carrie studied art through college and museum courses she considers herself mostly a self-taught artist. She began her art career in the 1960's painting and selling portraits in acrylics, watercolors and pastels. She has also worked with various other media including silk screen printing, clay, wood and stone sculpting, fiber arts, and jewelry making and creating small, personalized books filled with her poetry and art.
