The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Although this picture makes her seem normal sized, this little faerie is only three inches tall. She can be seen in the woods wherever tiny winged insects gather to collect their treasures. In fact you have probably seen one of her kind and didn't even realize it since she blends in so well with them, especially in a swarm where if you listen closely, you may hear the song she sings to help them with their chores.
About Carrie Skinner
Carrie Viscome Skinner was born in Fulton NY in 1952 and now resides in the woods in Sterling NY with her Husband of 40+ years, a dog named Raven and about 20 chickens. Though Carrie studied art through college and museum courses she considers herself mostly a self-taught artist. She began her art career in the 1960's painting and selling portraits in acrylics, watercolors and pastels. She has also worked with various other media including silk screen printing, clay, wood and stone sculpting, fiber arts, and jewelry making and creating small, personalized books filled with her poetry and art.
