Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. As the days grow shorter and the chill wind sends us looking for a warm fire, this Fey begins preparations for the festival of mid-winter. She gathers all her friends in a circle of celebration in honor of the dark days of the yearly cycle of life-death-life. They dance and sing to the spirit of darkness and night, to the stars, the cold and snow. Gifts are exchanged, revelry ensues and a good time is had by all. Then everyone tucks their ears under their hoods and retreats to the warmth of the earth where they will sleep till the peepers wake them in the spring.
About Carrie Skinner
Carrie Viscome Skinner was born in Fulton NY in 1952 and now resides in the woods in Sterling NY with her Husband of 40+ years, a dog named Raven and about 20 chickens. Though Carrie studied art through college and museum courses she considers herself mostly a self-taught artist. She began her art career in the 1960's painting and selling portraits in acrylics, watercolors and pastels. She has also worked with various other media including silk screen printing, clay, wood and stone sculpting, fiber arts, and jewelry making and creating small, personalized books filled with her poetry and art.
