Oh you want those delicious blackberries! But be careful. If this faerie is hiding in that patch there may be a price to pay for those delicacies. To her way of thinking, those are her berries and anyone who wants some must pay with a little blood.
This painting was commissioned by the parents of an especially difficult child for her birthday. She had a very prickly personality so thorns and fire red hair seemed appropriate.
About Carrie Skinner
Carrie Viscome Skinner was born in Fulton NY in 1952 and now resides in the woods in Sterling NY with her Husband of 40+ years, a dog named Raven and about 20 chickens. Though Carrie studied art through college and museum courses she considers herself mostly a self-taught artist. She began her art career in the 1960's painting and selling portraits in acrylics, watercolors and pastels. She has also worked with various other media including silk screen printing, clay, wood and stone sculpting, fiber arts, and jewelry making and creating small, personalized books filled with her poetry and art.
